TFPD: Shots fired into an unoccupied vehicle near CSI in Twin Falls

The CSI campus closed as police were investigating the incident. Authorities allege a fight broke out at the tennis courts near the campus. Nobody was injured.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls locked down Wednesday night as police investigated alleged shots fired. There is no danger to the public.

The Twin Falls Police Department said in a Thursday news release, at around 9:46 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a tennis court near the CSI campus for an alleged shots fired.

CSI, in response, shut down the campus at roughly 10 p.m. as officers were investigating. 

When officers arrived, they found several people at the location and a vehicle with three bullet holes in it. Police said the owner didn't cooperate with detectives but told them a fight broke out, during which someone shot at his unoccupied vehicle.

"No people were hit or injured during the altercation or shooting," police stated. "There is no evidence at this time to believe shots were fired in the direction of any person."

At roughly 11:35 p.m., the CSI reopened campus after police gave them the clear. Classes still took place on Thursday.
