FRUITLAND, Idaho — The Snake River Rest Area has been vandalized. According to the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), this is the third time the rest area has been vandalized in the last month.
"These facilities are here to serve travelers, but each act of vandalism makes it harder to maintain the level of service we strive to provide. If you see someone acting suspiciously or damaging property, please speak up," Facilities Operations Manager John Hall said.
The rest area is two miles from Ontario on Interstate 84. The department said people have broken a door, shattered a window and vandalized a child changing area.
ITD wants anyone with information to contact the Payette County Sheriff's Office.
