NAMPA, Idaho — The Nampa Fire Marshall has confirmed that an apartment fire in Nampa was caused by a space heater.
The apartment off of Garrity Boulevard in Nampa had crews dispatched to it around 2:37 a.m. Wednesday. Crews worked the scene for roughly two hours.
The fire was deemed accidental, and was contained to one apartment.
Two people were transported to the hospital and treated. They were later released, Ron Johnson, Nampa Fire Marshall, said to KTVB.
Thirteen people were displaced, due to the fire. Fire officials say they will likely be able to return to their apartments next week.
The primary apartment that experienced the fire was considered a "full loss", said Johnson.
The Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.
The Nampa Fire Department reminds everyone that it is best to keep items at least three feet away from a space heater.
This is the second fire caused by a space heater in the last week. A space heater caused a fire at a Fruitland home on Monday. The fire spread to a nearby church.
