Last week to sign up for St. Vincent de Paul's Thanksgiving food box

Now through Saturday, Nov. 16, folks can register for a food box from St. Vincent de Paul for Thanksgiving.

BOISE, Idaho — Registration for a Thanksgiving food box is now open through St. Vincent de Paul.

Each food box includes a turkey of at least 10 pounds, 10 pounds of potatoes, a roasting pan, and all the trimmings to provide a nice Thanksgiving meal for four to six people, said St. Vincent de Paul. 

Registration closes on Nov. 16, and a photo ID and proof of address are required. There are registration events in person, and online.

People can also register at dedicated sites located around Ada County. These sites are listed below: 

  • Holy Apostles Food Pantry: 
    • 6300A N. Meridian Road, Meridian, ID
    • October 28 - November 15: 
    • Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; 
    •  Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • St. Vincent de Paul Boise Food Pantry: 
    • 3209 W. Overland Road, Boise, ID
    • October 29 - November 15: 
    • Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Risen Christ Catholic Church: 
    • 11511 W. Lake Hazel Road, Boise, ID
    • November 11: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    • November 12: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Any food boxes remaining after the sign-up period will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Expo Idaho, starting at 5 p.m.
