Stolen Ontario ambulance found in Owyhee County

Owyhee Sheriff's Office Deputy Steve Crawford said a suspect is in custody.

OWYHEE COUNTY, Idaho — A suspect is in custody after stealing an ambulance from Saint Alphonsus Medical Center-Ontario on Monday, June 24 around 12:30 p.m. 

According to the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office the ambulance was found around 3:15 p.m. the same day in Owyhee County on State Highway 78 and Mud Flat Road.

The owner of Treasure Valley Paramedics, Heather Land, said she was glad it was found and that the person who took it was leaving the E.R.

"We were picking up another patient and the crew went inside to get them and came out and it was gone," Land said.

She said the police told her it was out of gas but appeared to be in good shape. A crew was headed to pick it up around 4:40 p.m.
