Structure fire in Boise

Boise Fire said no one was hurt but because of a lack of hydrants, several departments responded to the fire.

BOISE, Idaho — A structure fire in Boise was responded to by several departments in the area due to a lack of water hydrants. The Boise Fire Department said no one was hurt but Meridian, Kuna and Gowen Field Fire Departments also responded to the blaze.

The fire happened on E. Columbia Road Thursday, June 20 around midnight.

"Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the structure. Due to the lack of hydrants in the area 3 water tenders were requested. Firefighters coordinated fire attack, containing and extinguishing the fire," the department stated. "In total, 6 engines, 2 trucks, 3 water tenders, and 2 BC’s were used to bring the fire under control."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
