BOISE, Idaho — Two people walk into a bar, and walk out as lottery winners – no joke.
Suds Tavern, which is one of Idaho Lottery's newest retail locations, has quickly become a hot bed of luck in the Gem State. According to Idaho Lottery, on consecutive days, Suds Tavern in Boise sold a $1 million scratch ticket and a $131,634 top prize on Ultimate Diamond Jackpot.
Suds Tavern started selling lottery tickets on Feb. 1 of this year.
"We had been trying for a long time to get Idaho Lottery Scratch Games in our establishment," said Scott Burney, co-owner of Suds. "We were thrilled we got the opportunity to offer Lottery products to our patrons. But now, with two big wins in two days, this is incredible."
The $1 million winner, Travis Wilson, was out celebrating his birthday on Tuesday when he picked up a scratch ticket from a vending kiosk at Suds. That scratcher brought him a whole lot of birthday joy, as it was the $1 million winner.
Later that night, Julie Chislock and her husband joined Wilson at Suds to celebrate his big win. Chislock decided to play a few Ultimate Diamond Jackpot tickets, and ended up winning $131,634. Chislock claimed her prize on Wednesday.
The Idaho Lottery said that Burney joined the winners when they visited the lottery office in Boise on those consecutive days. Suds Tavern will receive a commission of $33,186.
"I love having lottery. I'm riding high," Burney said. "This is life changing for sure."
