Aldo Gutierrez is facing four felony charges after turning himself in at the Ada County Jail Tuesday for a hit-and-run crash that happened in August.

BOISE, Idaho — The suspect in an August hit-and-run in Nampa turned himself in to the Nampa police on Tuesday.

Aldo Miguel Gutierrez, 19, surrendered himself to the Ada County Jail on felony charges related to the crash that happened on Aug. 18 on N. Franklin Boulevard, according to the Nampa Police Department.

As KTVB previously reported, Nampa police were searching for a hit-and-run suspect who struck a man with their car at around 11 p.m. and fled the scene. The adult victim in the crash was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

During police investigation, detectives identified Gutierrez as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

"I am incredibly proud of the hard work and long hours the Nampa Police detectives put into this terrible crime," said Nampa Police Chief Joe Huff. "Their relentless work led them to a suspect and an eventual arrest. It is my hope that the victim and his family have some peace, knowing the suspect has been officially charged."

Gutierrez was booked at the Ada County Jail. He's facing the following felony charges:

  • Battery-Aggravated
  • Driving-Under the Influence (Aggravated)
  • Accident-Leaving the Scene of Accident Resulting in an Injury or Death
  • Enhancement-Use of a Deadly Weapon in Commission of a Felony
