MCCALL — EDITOR'S NOTE: Earlier, KTVB reported that the boy who collapsed on the paddleboard later died. After being contacted by the family, it was determined that information was incorrect and was the result of miscommunication with the Valley County Sheriff's Office.

The Valley County Sheriff's Office said a teenager was at St. Luke's in Boise Monday night after collapsing while he was paddleboarding Sunday at Payette Lake.

Valley County sheriff's Capt. Jason Speer said the 17-year-old was paddleboarding around his family's boat shortly before 3 p.m. when he collapsed.

The teen, whose identity hasn't been released, was transported to St. Luke's in McCall, then he was taken by Life Flight to St. Luke's in Boise. "He was in grave condition when he left St. Luke's in McCall," said Speer.

The boy's family said he had no known medical conditions.
