Teen identified in fatal rollover crash near Boise

Ada County Sheriff's Office said driver Ethan Lamers, 17, of Boise died at the hospital after a single-vehicle crash that left an 18-year-old passenger injured.

BOISE, Idaho — The Ada County Coroner's Office identified 17-year-old Ethan Lamers of Boise as the victim killed in a single-vehicle car crash near Boise Friday.

Lamers was driving northbound on North Cartwright Road in an Audi S3 when he lost control of the vehicle while on a curve, according to preliminary information from Ada County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) investigators.

ACSO said that a witness informed dispatch that the vehicle was on fire and both occupants had been removed from the vehicle.

An 18-year-old man was a passenger in the Audi when it crashed. Officials said he was injured and transported to the hospital along with Lamers.

The coroner's office was dispatched to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Friday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. June 7, where Lamers was pronounced dead in the ICU.

Police said they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. Ada County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
