The season's melting away at Bogus Basin

The ski area announced Wednesday that this is the last full week of operations at the nonprofit mountain recreation area.
Families took advantage of the last day of Christmas break by hitting the slopes at Bogus Basin Sunday.

BOGUS BASIN - Weekday skiing and snowboarding at Bogus Basin is rapidly drawing to a close.

The ski area announced Wednesday that this is the last full week of operations at the nonprofit mountain recreation area.

Beginning Saturday, Bogus will remain open only on weekends, as conditions allow.

A Spring Carnival planned for Saturday will feature activities and prizes, and outdoor music will play near Simplot Lodge from 11:30 am – 5 p.m. Food & beverage specials will be offered at both the Simplot and Pioneer lodges.

"Our mountain operations team has done an amazing job in recent weeks dealing with unseasonably warm conditions," said Nathan Shake, interim general manager. "As everyonenjoys their final runs of the winter, we're gearing up for a busy schedule of summer events and activities on the mountain."

Beginning Saturday, alpine lift tickets will be sold for $25. Operating chairlifts include Deer Point Express (#1), Superior (#3), Coach (#7), and the Easy Rider magic carpet. The Morning Star Chairlift (#2) will be open for access only.

This will be the final weekend for food and beverage service at Pioneer Lodge. The facility will remain open for restroom and locker access during weekends.

The Frontier Point Nordic Lodge and Pepsi Goldrush tubing hill are closed for the season.
