MERIDIAN, Idaho — The burger phenomenon known as In-N-Out has selected Meridian for its first location in Idaho. The anticipation has been growing across the Treasure Valley, and the final countdown may be here.
In-N-Out has not officially announced their grand opening date, but The Village at Meridian said it anticipates it happening within the next two-to-three weeks, according to a news release.
With the opening garnering much attention, several entities have gotten together to discuss parking/drive-thru procedures for the restaurant. In-N-Out, the City of Meridian, Ada County Highway District (ACHD) and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) have reviewed the traffic and line management plans, and all are "comfortable with the strategy and plans that are being put in place," The Village said.
The Village added that to minimize the impact on existing parking lots and traffic flows, it has developed a plan where In-N-Out will be staging and stacking cars.
There are four large dirt lots that have recently been paved to accommodate the stacking plan. The Village at Meridian said the lots "have been unused for years."
To help with the upcoming opening, In-N-Out will be bringing 200+ "All Star" team members into Meridian, and their primary role will be to help with the restaurant's debut in the Gem State.
In-N-Out Burger is currently opening six new stores, which includes the Meridian location. This "All-Star" team is well versed in planning and managing grand opening traffic management plans, Tuesday's news release said.
