BOISE, Idaho — The 12th annual Treefort Music Festival is here, bringing a wide variety of artists from near and far to Boise.
As bands begin taking the stage, KTVB prepared the ultimate guide to help you plan your time at Treefort Music Fest 2024, going on, in, and around downtown Boise from Wednesday to Sunday.
From the unique "forts" and free shows to getting around town and passholder info, here's your comprehensive guide to the festival.
Need-to-Know Fest Info
Festival grounds and passholder information.
- The main hub of Treefort Music Fest is the West section of Julia Davis Park, between Capitol Boulevard and Zoo Boise. Festivities begin Wednesday through Sunday.
- Pick up pre-purchased wristbands at Julia Davis Park, Tuesday beginning at 2 p.m. through Sunday beginning at 12 p.m.
- Purchase tickets online or at JD’s Bodega or Bodega Boise.
- For single day and fort badges, arrive at the Wristband Pick Up on the day for which your pass/badge is valid. For all individual event tickets, go to the venue.
- Download the Treefort App. In addition to building your own personalized schedule, you can share your schedule with friends and when it’s time for the festival you can check the length of lines at different venues and get real-time festival updates.
- All attendees, regardless of passholder status, will go through security upon entering the park.
- Remember to follow guidelines for what is and is not allowed on festival grounds.
FREE-Fort
Second Chance shows are free, "unofficial" Treefort shows at various venues around Boise for fans that may have missed an artist's official Treefort performance. Treefort organizers state that some of the shows are technically not a part of the festival, however they are part of the Treefort family, providing both passholders and non-passholders the opportunity to enjoy all the festivities of the fest.
Record Exchange will host in-store performances and free shows. Treefort scheduled the following dates and times, open to all ages:
- Wednesday at 4 p.m. Unknown Venus
- Friday at 2 p.m. Porji
- Saturday at 1 p.m. Sun Atoms
- Sunday at 1 p.m. Marine Stern
Skatefort at Rhodes Skate Park invites the community to enjoy giveaways and free skate to live musical performances on Saturday. Treefort announced the following on their website:
- 12 p.m. The Rap Hippy
- 1 p.m. Calimossa
- 1:30 p.m. Giveaway Expression Skate Session
- 2 p.m. COOL COMPANY
- 2:30 p.m. Giveaway Expression Skate Session
- 3 p.m. Die Spitzz
- 3:40 p.m. Sponsored Flow Bowl Skate Demo
- 4:10 p.m. Mandias
Treeline #1 and Treeline #2 buses will provide a Second Chance gigs on wheels, according to Treefort.
- Wednesday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. & Saturday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Most performances are TBD, but a few scheduled ones will feature artists Lonesome Jetboat Ramblers, High Pine Whiskey Yell, Jordan Polvina, Bread & Circus, Hillfolk Noir and more. Schedule will be posted here.

Passholder & Ticket Options
Passes are still available. Attendees have a variety of options, ranging from $120 for single-day tickets to Zipline 5-day passes for $440.
- Five-day Festival Pass - $320: This will give you fest access to 400+ artists for all five days and entry into 25+ music venues, as well as forts and events. All forts are included.
- Single-Day Pass - $120: This pass allows you to explore all of Treefort for one day/night. All forts are included.
- ZIPLINE Pass - $440: This allows you to skip to the front of the line at every venue.
- U21 Pass - $170: This pass is the same as the GA five-day pass but specifically for those under the age of 21. It will get you into venues and events that are for all ages, roughly half of the venues.
- **The Lookout Lounge - $150 add-on: New this year! Located at the Main Stage in Julia Davis Park, the 21+ Lookout Lounge gives you access to private bathrooms, a full bar and more for those needing take a break and relax during the fest. The Lookout Lounge pass is an optional add-on to fest passes.
- Fort Badges - prices vary: Fort Badges give access to specific forts. Most forts operate for three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) during the festival. Fort Badges for purchase: Hackfort ($30), Filmfort ($30) and Yogafort ($35 single day, $75 three-day).
- Foodfort, Comedyfort and Podfort - prices vary: In addition to traditional festival passes and Fort Badges, guests can purchase tickets to specific events and shows at various places around town. The Knitting Factory, Basque Center, Treefort Music Hall, Egyptian Theater and the Morrison Center are a few participating venues with tickets for purchase for Foodfort, Comedyfort and Podfort.
Kids under the age of 12 are free to attend when accompanied by an adult pass holder, according to theTreefort Music Fest website. Many of the venues, including the main stage, are all-ages, but some are restricted to those 21 years of age and older.

Forts of Treefort 2024
The "forts" of Treefort. Admittance to forts varies depending on age and pass. Part of what makes the festival so unique is the inclusivity for all ages and the different paced events for people with varying activity levels.
- FREE ZONE (free & open to the public) includes Alefort, Kidfort and free shows at the bandshell in Julia Davis Park. There will be food trucks, restrooms, water stations and more available for guests.
- ALEFORT (open to ages 21+) craft beverage and food tasting. Sample local and regional beer, wine, cider and cocktails. Alefort will host Drag Brunch, Comedy Brunch and more! Instead of a Buzz Pass this year, Treefort is offering the 21+ Lookout Lounge pass.
- ARTFORT (free & open to all the public) will have performances and artwork at various locations.
- COMEDYFORT (requires a Festival Pass or Individual Show Ticket) features dozens of comedians, headlined by Marc Maron.
- DRAGFORT (requires a Festival Pass or ticket purchase at The Balcony) features late night parties, drag shows and festival-wide attractions. Most drag events will take place at The Balcony.
- FILMFORT (requires a Festival Pass or Filmfort Badge) will welcome 40+ feature films and short films from Thursday to Saturday.
- FOODFORT (individual event ticket purchase) On Wednesday, March 20, James Beard Award finalist, and local Caldwell restaurant: Amano and Chef Salvador Alamilla host "A Night with Amano" at the Basque Center. More Foodfort event tickets are available for purchase here.
- HACKFORT (requires a Festival Pass or Hackfort Badge) is all about Tech. The fort will host several workshops and interactive activities throughout the fest.
- KIDFORT (free & open to all ages) has programming for the younger crowds at Treefort Music Fest located at the Nest stage in Julia Davis Park and Idaho State Museum
- MUSIC TALKS (free & open to the public, Festival Pass purchase encouraged) will feature the industry's brightest minds of the musically inclined. Made for artists at any point in their career and anyone who is interested in the music industry.
- PODFORT (some events are free & open to the public; others require ticket purchase) is for all things Podcasts. Most Podfort events will be held at the Boise Centre and The Egyptian Theatre.
- SKATEFORT (free & open to the public) enjoy skateboarding, roller-skating, hanging out and of course, listening to music at Rhodes Skate Park on Saturday, March 23.
- STORYFORT (free & open to the public, Festival Pass purchase encouraged) brings a wide array of literary artists telling stories, holding deep discussions and cozy readings at various venues including Ochos and the Idaho Film Society.
- YOGAFORT (requires Festival Pass or Yogafort Pass) features yoga and movement classes all set to live music at JUMP. Single-day Yogafort Badges are $35, three-day Badges are $75.
Navigating Treefort
Driving, parking, biking, shuttle services and many more options for getting around Treefort and the various venues.
Valley Regional Transit 'Treeline' shuttle:
- Buses will shuttle festival goers between venues, including the main stage at Julia Davis Park, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. There is no bus service on Sundays.
- You can catch a Treeline bus at one of the decorated stops around downtown Boise.
- Passholders ride for free during Treefort, according to Valley Regional Transit.
- ***BONUS! There will be bands performing on the Treeline – lineup TBA!
Driving & Parking: Plan to walk a lot.
- Boise State University will offer daily parking for Treefort festival goers.
- Treefort attendees may park in Brady Garage Wednesday through Sunday.
- Parking is $5 per day.
- Pay at the kiosk before you leave the garage. Select “Treefort Music Fest” and follow the step-by-step instructions. You will need to know your license plate number.
- Learn more about BSU campus parking here.
- Downtown Boise parking garages will be open and available. However, expect garages to reach capacity quickly.
- Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are available in Boise but be aware that fares often vary widely depending on availability of drivers and demand for rides.
- Even if you don’t plan to attend Treefort, there will be street closures to be aware of if your drive takes you through downtown Boise.
Bicycling & Scooters:
- The Boise Bicycle Project is providing two bike parking stations in Julia Davis Park during Treefort. according to Treefort organizers.
Pro Tip: Pay attention to the scheduled street closures. Best practice would be to carpool!

Over 60 venues, 450+ bands and 700+ events.
The five-day event will transform downtown Boise into a bustling, cultural hub with the hope of bringing diverse, up-and-coming, dedicated artists to the place we call Idahome.

This is the 12th year for the Treefort Music Fest, which began in 2012 as a showcase of Boise's local music and arts community, and also brought some out-of-town bands and artists to the Gem State. The festival continues to focus on independent and emerging national, regional and local artists across a wide range of musical genres.
Treefort Music Fest was recognized in 2015-2017 as the Cultural Ambassador for the City of Boise.
