TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The City of Twin Falls acknowledges residents' concerns about the "strong odors" plaguing the city and is trying to find the cause.
In a news release Wednesday, the city said initial tests show the smell isn't from wastewater lines, but from specific industries in and near the city.
The city did not clarify which industries are to blame, but it is communicating with them to find a solution to the smell.
"We value the well-being of our residents and are dedicated to maintaining a high quality of life in Twin Falls," said Nathan Erickson, environmental manager for the City of Twin Falls. "We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as we work to address this issue promptly and effectively."
The City of Twin Falls is asking members of the public who experience a strong smell to submit an odor report, as this will help officials better understand where it's coming from.
"These reports are crucial in helping us pinpoint the sources and track patterns, which will aid in our mitigation efforts," the city said in a news release.
