JACKPOT, Nevada -- A Twin Falls man died Wednesday afternoon after police say he crashed head-on into an oncoming semi truck.

The collision happened at 4:25 p.m. on U.S. 93, north of Jackpot, Nevada.

According to Idaho State Police, 72-year-old William Selelyo of Twin Falls was driving north when he crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic. Selelyo's Acura struck a southbound semi driven by 54-year-old Michael Wilkens of Bismarck, North Dakota.

The impact crushed Selelyo's car, and he died from his injuries at the scene. Wilkens was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts, police say. It's unclear what caused Selelyo to veer into southbound traffic.

The wreck blocked the northbound lanes of US 93 for about five hours while emergency crews worked.
