BOISE, Idaho — Families struggling with food insecurity will be able to get their children free breakfast as the Twin Falls School District (TFSD) expands their summer meals program.
TWSD said in a Thursday news release it will be expanding its Summer Feeding Program to include breakfast and afternoon snacks in select areas. They stated the expansion is to "provide comprehensive nutritional support to children throughout the summer months."
All children under 18 will be able to receive a free meal at TFSD's program locations. Parents can purchase a meal for $4.75.
Officials with the program want to remind parents the summer food program offers two types of food events.
- CONgregate: all meals must be eaten on site, no meals can be taken off site
- NON-congregate: child may pick up food and leave, food does NOT need to be eaten on site
TFSD provided the times and dates of the summer program:
The meal program will not be opened on July 4-5.
