WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Students from Twin Falls are headed to the nation's capital to compete with the country's best in science and math competitions.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), who sponsors the National Science Bowl (NSB), announced Monday that the Twin Falls team is heading to Washington D.C. for the National Finals for NSB. The Twin Falls teams won the regional competition for the 2024 NSB this past weekend, getting them into the NSB National Finals this spring.
"Every year this 'competition like no other' brings together some of the most remarkable and inspiring students from across America," said Asmeret Asefaw Berhe, DOE Office of Science Director. "I would like to congratulate the Twin Falls High School team as they advance to the National Finals! Good luck to you – our future scientists, visionaries, and leaders!"
The NSB is a nation wide science bowl, bringing together thousands of middle and high school students from around the nation. This fast paced question-and-answer format covers topics including biology, chemistry, Earth and space sciences, physics and math.
The National Finals for NSB is April 25-29 and held in Washington D.C. All expenses are paid for the regional winners of the competition.
