Two hurt in three-car crash near New Plymouth

Two people are in the hospital after a three-vehicle crash near New Plymouth Saturday afternoon.

NEW PLYMOUTH -- Two people are in the hospital after a three-vehicle crash near New Plymouth Saturday afternoon.

Michelle Johnson, 36, of Coquille, Oregon, was traveling southbound on SH-52 when she failed to yield at a stop sign, striking the passenger side of a 2008 Ford Mustang, driven by James Sando, 42, of Emmett.

The impact spun Sando's Mustang and he was struck on the driver's side by a Ford F-250 traveling eastbound.

Sando was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center by air ambulance. Johnson was taken to Saint Alphonsus in Ontario by ground ambulance.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
