MOSCOW, Idaho — The University of Idaho has made its selection for the school's top position, appointing C. Scott Green as the 19th president.
Green is the global chief operating and financial officer of international law firm Hogan Lovells and a Vandal alumnus, with a degree in accounting from U of I and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard.
The new president was picked from more than 50 applicants to replace outgoing president Chuck Staben, whose last day on the job will be June 15, 2019.
Green was selected from among the five finalists Thursday by a unanimous vote from the Idaho State Board of Education.
The university praised Green for his "broad perspective on diversity and international outreach." In a statement, Green touted his connections to the University of Idaho.
“My history with the University of Idaho is deep. I care about this place, its students, its faculty and staff and its alumni,” Green said in a statement. “Together, we will work toward its strategic goals, creating a stronger, more competitive institution.”
Green and his wife Gabriella have two college-age children, Nicholas and Christina.
