U.S. Census hiring part-time positions that pay $14.50 an hour

The bureau plans to hire 500,000 census takers for the upcoming season.

BOISE, Idaho — U.S. Census Bureau hosted a 2020 census recruitment event in Boise Thursday morning. 

The temporary part-time positions will start in Spring 2020 and pay $14.50 an hour, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

For those interested but weren't able to attend the event in Boise, they can apply online

The bureau plans to hire 500,000 census takers for the upcoming season.

"These jobs are critical to ensure a complete and accurate census and the U.S. Census Bureau is holding informational events all over the country to answer questions about jobs and the hiring process," the press release stated.

The bureau is encouraging seasonal workers, students, retirees and workers in the gig economy to apply.
