Boise-based company and U.S. Army sign special partnership

The new partnership aims to place Army veterans in specialized jobs within the Boise-based US Ecology company.

BOISE — The United States Army signed a special partnership Wednesday with a national company based in Boise.

US Ecology, an environmental services company that works to offer treatment, disposal and recycling of hazardous and radioactive waste, will now be working with Army enlistees to offer them specialized jobs after their service with the Army.

In a special ceremony, Army and US Ecology leaders signed “the partnership for youth success agreement.”

US Ecology CEO Jeff Feeler explained that the partnership was developed to help the Army attract, train and deploy talented young people who want to serve their country but also want to help secure their future success once their Army service is complete.

"I think it's incredibly important because they want to know that they have a landing spot, and that they can come to an organization with similar values and beliefs and support structure and ultimately gives them a home for a new career and a new journey," said Feeler.

So, effective Wednesday, Army men and women simply go through an Army process to join the program to be considered for a future job.

US Ecology says they have a large variety of jobs they are excited to place veterans in.
