BOISE, Idaho — Across Idaho, law enforcement is honoring those behind the scenes taking calls and coordinating officers. One Valley County deputy, in particular, is being highlighted even though he may have a bit of a drug problem.
On Wednesday, the Valley County Sheriff's Office posted on its social media highlighting its 911 dispatchers in light of the National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Within the post, a cat poses proudly in front of the American flag, but that's no ordinary cat, they are a Deputy.
Deputy Chunky Monkey has served at the sheriff's office for a year. They shared what they love about their job.
"I live the best life possible. I am here to support my LEO family, I especially enjoy belly rubs, snacks and a little bit of the catnip. I have the best job ever," Dep. Chunky Monkey stated.
KTVB will (purrr)sue information on whether Dep. Chunky Monkey was using catnip on the job.
The office honors their dispatch team and states, "These incredible individuals are the calm voices in the chaos, the problem solvers in times of crisis, and the lifeline connecting those in need of help."
