EAGLE, Idaho — Valley Regional Transit is asking Eagle residents to weigh in on the future of the bus service in a new survey.

In October, VRT extended the 9 State Street bus route to Ballantyne Lane in west Eagle, creating a direct route to downtown Boise. The service was later suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic, due to challenges including low ridership.

Now, the bus service is considering either extending the route once more or introducing an on-demand transit service for locations that are not served with traditional bus routes.

VRT OnDemand, which allows riders to book rides within specific zones during normal operating hours, was introduced in Nampa and Caldwell in fall of 2020. Valley Regional Transit also provides Lyft Transit Connection, which allows riders to take a $2 Lyft ride to many bus stops in Boise.

To weigh in, take the Eagle survey here.
