BOISE, Idaho — A man was hospitalized Sunday with serious, life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in downtown Boise. Boise Police Department (BPD) is seeking more information regarding the incident.
Boise police responded to a report of a vehicle v. bicycle crash at the intersection of South 9th Street and West River Street on Sunday, Feb. 18 at around 9:45 p.m.
The responding officer found a severely injured man who had been struck by a vehicle, according to a news release from BPD.
BPD stated that the officer was providing lifesaving measures to the victim when two bystanders, who happened to have been healthcare workers, assisted the officer.
Boise police said the driver of the vehicle was a man and that evidence at the scene indicated he was in the turning lane on West River Street and was attempting to turn onto South 9th Street when he collided with the cyclist in the crosswalk.
The bicyclist was transported to the hospital via ambulance. There is no additional information on his condition.
