BOISE, Idaho — The deadline to register to vote ahead of the 2024 Presidential Primary Election is today, May 10.
Idahoans needing to register for the first time or update their registration have until Friday. After Friday, voters must wait to register at an early voting site or on Election Day at the time of voting.
Registration can be done online or in person at the Ada County Elections Office.
The office states that the pre-registration Friday deadline is especially critical for voters registering to make an absentee vote.
Although absentee ballots may be requested through May 10, absentee voters must be registered by April 26.
"Registering to vote online is simple and can save you time at the polls during Election Day," Ada County Clerk Trent Tripple said. "For those already registered, I urge you to verify and update your details to ensure a seamless voting process."
For more information about the May election, visit Ada County Elections website here or contact the office at (208) 287-6860 or elections@adaounty.id.gov.
