Votes are in for BSD's 2024 Trustee Election

Unofficial election results show Krista Hasler beat out Matthew Shapiro to win a two-year seat on the board.

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise School District's Board of Trustees has a new member.

According to preliminary results, Krista Hasler beat out Matthew Shapiro to win a two-year seat on the board. Hasler has received 1,755 votes, while Shapiro had 1,490.

All results are unofficial until they are certified in the following days.

The election consisted of three races: the two-year term, the four-year term and the six-year term.

However, voters could only see the two-year race on the ballot because the only people who filed for the other two were already officeholders.

After the votes are certified, Hasler will be sworn into office during the regular board meeting on Monday, Sept. 9.
