IDAHO CITY -- Nearly 600 firefighters are working on a late-season wildfire burning in mountains and as of Saturday, had it 71 percent contained.
Fire officials say eight helicopters are also taking part fighting the human-caused blaze that started a week ago and destroyed three cabins.
Officials say a burnout operation on Thursday succeeded, and fire lines are holding on the southern, western and eastern edges of the Walker Fire.
Officials say good progress is being made on establishing containment lines around the entire fire perimeter.
There are no evacuation orders currently in place and residents are allowed to return to their homes.
