EAGLE, Idaho — Veolia Water said there was a water main break in Eagle on Floating Feather. The company stated that crews were at the site on Sunday, Nov. 10 making repairs. The repairs were completed Nov. 10 but the company said damage to the road will take longer to remedy.
In a news release, the company stated their crews had dug, "under the roadway around other utility lines down to the broken main, creating a employee safe work environment using trench boxes to maintain the walls of the work area, cutting the broken pipe out, installing a new section of galvanized iron pipe in its place, flushing the water main, and backfilling the hole."
"Early this morning, Veolia emergency crews responded to a water main break on Floating Feather in Eagle. A 16-inch PVC transmission main split laterally (along the pipe), resulting in the roadway caving in before sunrise," stated a release.
No customers were without water and the company said all repairs would be completed today. The roads damaged by the break will take more time.
The company stated it will take several days to "remediate."
"Floating Feather between N Downing Drive and N Grey Pebble Way will remain closed the week of November 11 while the roadway is rebuilt and repaired," the release stated. "We ask the public to respect the detour signs that will direct traffic around the 300 feet of closed roadway on Floating Feather."
For parents concerned with access to the school, Eagle Middle School will have access from the west side of the street. People with questions can contact Veolia by clicking here.
