West Ada School District provides free tutoring for all students

The West Ada School District is partnering with Varsity Tutors to provide free, 24/7 online tutoring for all students.

BOISE, Idaho — West Ada School District is partnering with Varsity Tutors to bring all of their students, free, online tutoring until June 2030. The resource will be available 24/7, said Marcus Myers, chief academic officer for West Ada School District.

The tutoring program will have an online chat help portal, a essay check feature and personalized learning courses for all students, Myers said. It will also have free SAT and ACT prep help.

“In West Ada, we always ask ourselves, what is it that we want to add that students need to learn?” Myers said.

Not only is the program free for all students, teachers and parents – it is also free for West Ada School District, Myers said.

“It's 100 percent free,” Myers said.

West Ada will still provide in-person tutoring for students who need it during the school day, Myers said. This will be another resource for students outside of the classroom.

“Students who need that support now have the opportunity to do so,” Myers said.

Varsity Tutors serves around 500 school districts across the nation, according to their website. Now, Myers said West Ada will be one of them – as the largest school district in Idaho.
