BOISE -- Wild horses rounded up in Challis Herd Management Area are up for adoption.

The horses are young and may initially be scared of humans, but we're told they end up making great saddle and pack horses.

They were gathered in October of last year and now at the Boise Wild Horse Corrals.

The purchase price of the first horse is $75, and the second horse is reduced to $25.

They are ready for people to take home. They're ages are six to eight months old. The rest of the horses that are not up for adoption are being held for the 4-H program, said Steve Leonard, wild horse and burro specialist.

The 4-H program will take the horses and train them before putting them back up for adoption at the Idaho Horse Expo.

You must be 18 years old and have the proper facilities and transportation to adopt a wild horse.
