Woman dies after being hit by train in Payette County

Police said the 29-year-old woman from Payette was walking on the tracks when she was hit by the train.

PAYETTE COUNTY, Idaho — A woman died after being hit by a train in Payette County on Friday night. According to Idaho State Police (ISP), the 29-year-old woman from Payette was walking on the train tracks at NW 10th Avenue and Washoe Road headed south, when she was hit by a train going in the opposite direction. She died at the scene.

Police said it happened the evening of Friday, Feb. 23 around 6:30 p.m. It took crews about three hours to clear the intersection. ISP is investigating.
