Woman dies after crash in Jerome County

A 69-year-old woman from Shoshone died after she lost control of her car on U.S. 93.

JEROME COUNTY, Idaho — A woman from Shoshone has died after losing control of her car on U.S. 93. According to Idaho State Police (ISP), the crash happened in Jerome County on Saturday, March 9 around 12:50 p.m. 

ISP said the woman from Shoshone was driving a 2006 Toyota sedan north on U.S. 93 when she lost control in a snowy area and crossed into the southbound lanes near milepost 63. She was hit by a 52-year-old man from Hailey driving a 1995 GMC SUV headed south. 

The woman died at the scene and the man was taken to the hospital. Traffic was blocked for about two hours and ISP is investigating.
