BOISE -- A Pocatello woman was hospitalized after her car collided with a semitrailer and burst into flames Wednesday night.

The fiery crash happened on I-84 at 8:42 p.m., about a mile east of the East Boise Port of Entry.

Idaho State Police say 52-year-old Shauna Bare was driving west in a Honda Civic when she rear-ended a semi truck driven by 49-year-old Matthew Ernestberg of Middleton. Bare's care caught fire after the impact, police say.

Bare was taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The extent of her injuries are unknown. Police say she was wearing a seatbelt when the wreck happened.

The westbound interstate was blocked for an hour and forty minutes while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
