Two Mountain Home School District schools were closed Thursday after district officials received a potential threat.
Superintendent James Gilbert sent a message to parents saying they received an email threatening a "potential act of violence" at Bennett Mountain High School. The emailed threat said it was supposed to occur sometime Thursday.
As a precaution, school officials also closed Hacker Middle School Thursday since the two schools share a campus.
Police say the message is not related to the threats sent to other locations around the country.
They have located and questioned the person suspected of sending the message.
The police chief said that person is a student at Bennett Mountain High.
There will be an increased police presence at the school on Friday.
Classes at all other Mountain Home School District schools were in session Thursday. As an additional safety measure, the district says lockdown procedures were implemented. The Mountain Home Police Department also provided additional resources to the schools that remain in session.
