CALDWELL -- Canyon County Clerk Chris Yamamoto and other election workers are excited about new counting machines.
The two machines cost almost $250,000. They helped pay for them with trade in for their old equipment and federal money.
Yamamoto said the two machines can count ballots faster than the four old machines combined. This is in large part because they don't have to stop when they come across a ballot with a write-in.
The county is also using new anti-hacking software to keep the results secure.
