Deadline for online voter registration in Idaho is Friday

If you want to vote absentee in the May 2023 primary, you need to be registered by Friday, April 21.

IDAHO, USA — The deadline to register to vote online in the May 16, 2023, primary election is Friday, April 21. People that want to vote absentee in the election must be registered by that time in order to request an absentee ballot, those can then be requested through May 5. 

"As we prepare for the upcoming election, I want to remind everyone of the importance of voter registration. Becoming a registered voter ensures you the opportunity to make your voice heard in these local races," Ada County Clerk Trent Tripple said. "If you are already registered to vote, this a good opportunity to check on your voter registration and update any changes in order to successfully cast your vote."

People can register, update their registration and request an absentee ballot online at voteidaho.gov. Following the deadline, voters can register at an early voting site or on Election Day at their voting site.
