MERIDIAN - Voters on Tuesday narrowly approved a massive $95 million bond for the West Ada School District.

With all precincts reporting, 68 percent of the vote was in favor of the bond, which will go toward building new schools and improving existing schools in the fast-growing district. Bonds require approval from two-thirds of voters in order to pass.

In addition to the bond, West Ada voters also approved a two-year $28 million levy.

Voters in Canyon County weren't so generous. Bonds in Middleton ($25 million), Parma ($5 million) and Wilder ($5 million) failed.

However, one levy in Canyon County did pass - a two-year $5 million request from the Caldwell School District.

Also of note, a $20.4 million bond from the Emmett School District failed, with nearly 60 percent of voters rejecting the funding request.
