Idaho's freshman Congressman Russ Fulcher and his wife filed for divorce just a couple months before the mid-term elections in November.
Fulcher's divorce was kept secret throughout his run for office.
His wife, Kara, filed for divorce in August after nearly 32 years of marriage.
In court filings, shes cites irreconcilable differences, including "acts of adultery."
Fulcher's attorney released a statement saying, "The couple acted jointly and resolved the matter in a way that was private, amicable and respectful."
His attorney added, "Russ and Kara Fulcher are wonderful people, marvelous people... I believe everyone thinks they're a marvelous family."
