SPOKANE, Wash. — A 17-year-old girl died after being thrown from her vehicle during a traffic accident on SR-2 at Milepost 318 near Newport on Thursday afternoon.
According to Washington State Patrol, the 17-year-old from Oldtown, Idaho drove into the median then into the opposite lanes before rolling and landing in a ditch.
WSP says the female was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
She was transported to Sacred Heart where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
