Fatal Spokane Valley Safeway shooting suspect arrested in Idaho

Bryman was peacefully taken into custody as a Fugitive from Justice pending extradition to Spokane County.

HAYDEN, Idaho — Spokane County Deputies announced they have arrested a man in connection with a shooting at a Spokane Valley Safeway this weekend.

43-year-old Johnathan M. Bryman was arrested in Hayden, Idaho on Monday, October 14 and law enforcement developed probable cause to charge him with 2nd Degree Murder.

Police say that based on initial information, Bryman and the victim, who was identified as 53-year-old William McCreight, met in the parking lot in the northwest corner of E. Trent Avenue and N. Argonne Road for what is believed to be a possible drug deal.

Police added that at some point, Bryman pulled out a handgun and shot McCreight before fleeing the parking lot in his vehicle.

In the afternoon of October 14 law enforcement found Bryman at a residence near N. Maple Street and Rapatti Way in Hayden, Idaho.

He was peacefully taken into custody as a Fugitive from Justice pending extradition to Spokane County.
