BOISE -- Firefighters responded to a single-alarm house fire on Pleasanton Avenue in Boise Thursday afternoon. It was reported around 4:15 p.m.
Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan said a contractor working in the home hit a nail, creating sparks that ignited the fire.
Firefighters had to cut through the roof of the home to fight the flames. Crews are still on scene assessing the damage.
Chief Doan told KTVB the homeowners were inside the house when the fire started, but made it out safely.
With temperatures in the 90s and a busy day fighting the Table Rock Fire, monitoring the health of the firefighters working to put out the flames is important.
"They've been working all day without any sleep," said Doan. "We're trying to rotate crews through and calling other engines in so that we can rotate them out."
No injuries were reported.
Ada County paramedics helped firefighters recuperate while on scene.
