BOISE, Idaho — An inmate transfer deadline has been set for Chad Daybell as he stands accused of murdering his wife Lori Vallow Daybell's children and his former wife, Tammy Daybell.
In preparation of Daybell's April murder trial in Ada County, Fremont County District Judge Steven Boyce filed court documents on Monday, March 4, stating that Chad Daybell must be transferred to the Ada County Jail from Fremont County no later than March 22.
As KTVB previously reported, Chad Daybell and his wife, Lori Vallow Daybell, were charged in the deaths of Vallow's children and Daybell's first wife, Tammy Daybell. Vallow was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2023.
In addition to charges of conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree murder, Daybell faces two counts of insurance fraud and one count of grand theft.
If convicted, Daybell could be sentenced to death after the Fremont County district court judge struck down two motions from his defense team's attempt to have the form of punishment removed.
Chad Daybell's trial is scheduled for April 1, 2024, at 9 a.m. at the Ada County Courthouse in Boise.
