BOISE - We're putting the lights back in "lights, camera, action!" A major KTVB studio lighting project wrapped up Thursday.
For the past three weeks, all newscasts have been broadcast from our makeshift studio - a conference room and business office - while KTVB engineers and production staff worked hard to replace the entire studio lighting grid with over 100 florescent and LED lights, involving more than 70 new fixtures, all re-positioned to give viewers the cleanest and clearest high definition look.
In addition to a better picture, the low energy lights will amount to an 87-percent reduction of the studio's carbon footprint.
KTVB anchors Dee Sarton and Carolyn Holly remarked on the News at 4 Thursday that the new lights put off much less heat than the previous lights, making the studio much cooler during newscasts.
