CALDWELL-- After upsetting 4th-ranked Azusa Pacific on Monday in the opening round of the NAIA Championship Tournament, the College of Idaho drew a 10-seed at the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, May 25-31.
The Coyotes will open up against 7-seed Point Park at 9 a.m. (PT) on Friday, May 25. If the College of Idaho wins, they will then play 3-seed Lee on Saturday at 3 p.m. (PT). If they lose, the Yotes will immediately be pressed into an elimination game against the loser of Lewis-Clark State and Oklahoma City at 12 p.m. (PT) on Saturday.
This marks the College of Idaho s first trip back to the NAIA World Series since 2002 when they placed third. In three other appearances, the Yotes placed fifth in 2000, second in 1999, and won the program s first and only National Championship in 1998.
This year s field is as unpredictable as they come. Other than the Yotes, only Oklahoma City (once) and Lewis-Clark State (16 times) have won a National Championship, while the University of South Carolina Beaufort and Rogers State University will be making the trip to Lewiston for the first time in the history of their respective programs.
