BOISE -- Boise State athletic director Mark Coyle is headed to Syracuse,
President Bob Kustra announced Coyle's departure in an email late Friday.
"Mark has accomplished a great deal in his time as Boise State's director of athletics, and we wish him, Krystan, and their family every happiness and success."
Coyle, who has been at the helm of Bronco athletics since December 2011, will join the Syracuse Athletic department July 6, according to the Syracuse University Athletic Department website.
The website also released a statement from Syracuse Chancellor Kent Syverud about Coyle's hiring.
"Mark has an outstanding record as a director of athletics and is known throughout the country for his professional accomplishments," said Syracuse Chancellor Kent Syverud. "His strong academic values and commitment to the welfare of student-athletes, combined with his record of achievement in fundraising, make him the right person to lead Syracuse University Athletics forward at this important time for the University."
