BOISE - The Boise State gymnastics team achieved history on Monday, earning it's highest ranking ever in program history. The Broncos find themselves ranked 10th in the NCAA Road to Nationals rankings.

"It's exciting and the kids you know they work so hard day in and day out in the gym; every year, we sit down with our team and our goals are to win a conference championship, compete in the post-season, but also to do something that has never been done here before," said Boise State co-head coach Neil Resnick

The program's highest previous national ranking came on Jan. 13, 2014, when they were No. 11. Last season they were as high as No. 12 on multiple occasions.

"You know it's a really big accomplishment for us, we have put in so much work over the summer and pre-season," said senior gymnast Maddie Krentz.

After earning a season-high 196.425 this past weekend at BYU, Boise State moved up three spots from last week's No. 13 ranking. The Broncos are the highest ranked team in the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference, with Southern Utah tied for No. 24 as the second-highest ranked team in the conference.

"The beauty of this year is our scores are coming from all over the place, they're coming from all four classes, they're coming from different people in the first two meets. It's great to have a star, but it's even better to have people that become stars at a given moment," said Resnick.

Boise State is at home this Friday (January 29) hosting BYU. The meet will start at 7:30 p.m. at CenturyLink Arena.
