Former Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore's roller coaster NFL career took another turn Tuesday when the Dallas Cowboys cut him from the 53-man roster.
According to the Cowboys' official website, the team filled his vacated spot on the roster with linebacker Mark Nzeocha.
Moore was signed to the Cowboys' practice squad and then promptly promoted to the active roster after Tony Romo broke his collar bone earlier this season. He served as Brandon Weeden's backup for two weeks while Matt Cassel learned the Cowboys' offense, but did not see any playing time.
If he clears waivers, the Cowboys could re-sign Moore to the practice squad, or another team could pick him up. He previously played three seasons as third-string quarterback for the Detroit Lions.
