BOISE, Idaho — After a stellar prep career, it's only fitting that Bishop Kelly senior Lauren Elwer head off to Gonzaga with one more accolade to her name: Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year.
The 5-foot-7 forward scored 48 goals and record 15 assists this past season, helping the Knights to an undefeated season and their third-straight 4A state title.
"Lauren knows how to score, and she knows how to score fast," Columbia High School head coach Sam Duke said. "She reads the game very well in terms of where she needs to be in order to score."
Elwer, who is a triplet to teammates Evelyn and Grace, is also the two-time 4A state player of the year and reigning 4A SIC player of the Year.
