History
Last Playoff Appearance: 2017
State Titles: 2 (1983, 1991)
Capital has consistently found itself at the top of the 5A SIC for well over a decade now. They’ve won either their pod or the league itself in seven on the last 14 years and played for the 5A state title on three separate occasions.
The only thing the Todd Simis Era is lacking is a 5A state championship.
“All of us players, we want to give that to Simis. He deserves it. He’s a great coach,” said senior left tackle Jack Vering. “He teaches us life lessons. I feel like it’s our job as players to help reward him with one of those rings.”
