Idaho high school boys basketball rankings: Another new team claims No. 1 4A spot

The Storm and Chargers remained the unanimous top-ranked teams in their respective classifications Tuesday. There is a new 4A No. 1 for the third time in four weeks.

BOISE, Idaho — Two Treasure Valley squads remained the unanimous No. 1 teams in the 5A and 2A rankings in the latest Idaho high school boys basketball state media poll, released Tuesday.

Owyhee continues to sweep the first-place votes as it tears through the SIC. The Storm only have three losses this season, all of which came against California schools. Owyhee has won seven-straight games entering Wednesday's matchup with Boise.

Cole Valley Christian's top-ranked status also went untouched Tuesday following wins this week over New Plymouth and North Star Charter. The Chargers haven't lost since mid-December and sit at 15-1 overall.

For the third time in four weeks, a new team climbed to the top of the 4A rankings. After beating previous No. 1 Preston 70-61 on Wednesday, Hillcrest claimed the lead. The Knights have strung together seven consecutive victories to improve to 11-6.
